Meet the Integrative Arts Team

Gary Wass

Oregon Massage License #5633

Gary Wass has a deep passion for helping people live active, healthy lives. He has pursued this passion for over 25 years as a martial arts instructor and massage practitioner. This background affords him a unique, multi-disciplinary perspective on the interconnectedness of the body. Integrative Arts allows him to bring that perspective to bear by uniting body work, movement therapy, and massage into a greater whole.

Gary’s journey began in 1990, studying Tai Chi and Tui Na Massage at the Taoist Sanctuary in San Diego. Since then his quest to better understand health, wellness, and movement has taken him to Oregon, Washington, Southeast Asia, and China. During the journey he has studied a variety of disciplines, including Thai Massage, Tui Na, Cranial Sacral, Tai Chi and Chi Gong. He has put his studies into practice as a massage practitioner, massage educator, and martial arts teacher.   At the core of his work lies his enduring passion for helping people live active, healthy lives.

Gary has over 20 years of therapeutic and medical massage experience and has extensive experience with many different massage styles.  This allows Gary to work many different medical conditions and yield the results the client is looking for. Gary specializes in patients recovering from motor vehicle accidents or have with complex medical histories.  Massage styles such as Cranial Sacral Therapy, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Myofascial Release, and Bowen are particularly beneficial in helping patients dealing with a complex medical diagnosis or recover from an auto accident.  Gary also specializes in recreational or professional athletes.  Individuals who work hard and play hard often depend on Gary’s talents to keep them playing at the top of their game.

Sarah Blattler

Oregon Massage License #208

Sarah Blattler brings over 20 years of therapeutic and medical massage experience to Integrative Arts.  Sarah specializes in clients who are recovering from injuries, surgeries, or motor vehicle accidents.  Sarah also has training and a unique ability to help individuals who are recovering from a history of trauma or abuse.  Massage can be an important part of the recovery process.  Sarah works with you and your wellness team to reduce trauma induced pain and restore healthy personal boundaries.

In addition, Sarah provides much relief to clients with adhesive or surgical scars.  This includes knee and hip replacement scars, mastectomy scars, and abdominal adhesions.  Releasing scar tissue gives greater range of motion, and increased ability to do the things you need to do in life, and often reduces pain.

While trained in many massage modalities, Sarah primarily utilizes: Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Myofascial Release, Myofascial Scar Release, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Energy work, Pranic Energy Healing, and Tui Na Chinese Massage.
